Von Smada Kennels started out with German Shepherds and one Rottweiler then one day we fostered an American bulldog/pit bull mix. And fell in love with bulldogs. So I had to go buy my first American bulldog and that’s how the bulldog addiction started. Next thing I knew I had 7. There are many different types or styles of American bulldogs. Our preference is the 100 % Johnson American Bulldogs and the Johnson type bulldogs. We love their powerful bodies and big mushy faces. These dogs are calm, trainable, protective, courageous and devoted to their owners and family. Obedience training is essential. The Johnson American Bulldog is unlike any other breed. We strive to follow John D. Johnson (breed founder) and better the breed. These Johnson American Bulldogs are utility dogs that were first used to protect farmers from theives and to help with livestock. American Bulldogs are approachable yet fearless. We are proud to offer excellent working dogs. Large breed dogs who can excel in just about everything from therapy work, search and rescue, hunting, obedience trials, agility trials, service, herding, Schutzhund, protection, weight pull, and conformation in the show ring, to name a few, but the thing they do best is to be your best friend. When looking for a large breed dog for your family we highly recommend you only purchase from a reputable breeder, also be sure to research the breed before purchasing any type of pet. Our males we use for stud service also offer the highest quality temperament and working ability and pass that on to their puppies. We often go to other outside kennels for breeding to stud dogs because we want to bring together the best bloodlines. Our female dogs we use are the basics of our kennel and we seek out the highest quality females. Breeding strong female dogs produces the best type of puppies. We breed only for the improvement of the breed as a whole so therefore we are very picky. The results of such matings can be seen in the high quality offspring we've produced. Our puppies have sound minds and bodies. We do on occasion stud out our male dogs to approved females. We follow good breeding ethics and all dogs sold from our kennel receive health guarantees and a lifetime of breeder support. At any time that a purchaser decides he no longer wants a dog purchased from us, we will take the dog back. Puppies from our kennel are well socialized and raised around children and do come inside the home. We also on occasion have a litter of Rottweilers. Our Rottweilers are German with big blocky heads. We live in a very small village in south eastern Alabama. We have 3 sons. We have been raising dogs for over 10 years now.
